The Lubavitcher movement, one of the major Hassidic sects, is exhibiting a large assortment of its educational literature at the Chicago International Trade Fair which will close on August 12. The exhibit’s main emphasis is on Hassidism and its teachings, but there are also teaching aids in Judaism, including books on Jewish holidays and practices, written by Hassidic leaders.

The movement has a pavilion in the regular exhibition area in Chicago’s McCormick Place, and also an exhibition in the World Marketing Section of the Fair in which it displays a variety of its publications printed in Hebrew, Yiddish and other languages in this country, Israel, Britain, France, Italy, Denmark and other countries.

Rabbi M. M. Schneerson, world leader of the movement, said the decision to take part in the Chicago Fair stemmed from popular interest in its exposition during three years of participation in the United States World Trade Fair in New York. He said this was the first Jewish organization to take part in the Chicago Fair, and that plans were being made to participate in other trade fairs being planned by Chambers of Commerce in major cities.
