The first of a series of regional Jewish conferences sponsored by the DAIA, the central body of Argentine Jewry, to strengthen provincial Jewish communities heard a report today on the perils of Nazi infiltration in South American countries.
The two-day conference was held in Resistencia, in the Chaco Province, on the general topic of urgent problems affecting Argentine Jewry. The delegates included one from Paraguay, Segismundo Kurz, who reported that the Paraguayan Government had shown “great zeal” in preventing any hostilities against Jews in that country.
Dr. N. Davidovich, Dr. Nathan Lerner and Mark Turkow represented the executive of the DAIA at the meeting. The three DAIA executive members detailed the problems facing Argenting Jewry. Dr. Simon Munchnik of the city of Corrientes discussed the dangers of Nazi infiltration in his region.
