A special course for immigrant attorneys, to help them qualify for practice before the Israeli courts, was inaugurated here today in a joint curriculum sponsored by the Jewish Agency, the Israel Bar Association and Histadrut, the Israel Federation of Labor.

The course will embrace approximately the last two years of the Hebrew University’s law curriculum for Israeli attorneys. The immigrant attorneys, who are qualified otherwise, must take examinations, in Hebrew, on such subjects as Ottoman law, torts and personal status law as established by Israel. The course is open to qualified attorneys free of charge, and the faculty is serving on a voluntary basis.
