Scholars from 14 Lands Hold Three-day Parley on Jewish Life in Europe

Some 70 scholars from 14 countries took part here today in the opening session of the Conference on Jewish Life in Contemporary Europe organized jointly by the Institute of Contemporary Jewry at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and the National Center for Higher Jewish Studies at the University of Brussels.

During the three-day conference, the scholars will deal with such topics as the sources and methods for Jewish geographical statistics, spiritual trends and the reconstruction of Jewish communal life. Participating in the sessions are scholars from Belgium, Denmark, France, West Germany, Britain, Yugoslavia, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Israel, Italy, Portugal, the United States and Switzerland.
