Israeli Firm Wins Award at International Film Festival in New York

A special award for industrial documentary film was won today by the Israel film, “S’dom: Life From the Dead Sea,” exhibited in the 1962 International Film Festival of New York. The 14-minute color documentary tells of the industrial progress in exploiting the mineral wealth of the Dead Sea in Israel.

It was produced by the Israel Central Office of Information in Jerusalem under the guidance of Yigal Efrati and Y. Farchi. Zev Havatzelet directed the film, which was written by Moshe Levin. Y. Herschenzon and M. Trunitzer were the producers. The film was exhibited at the New York Festival by the Israel Office of Information in the United States.
