Arab radio propaganda attacks on American Near Eastern Policy have in recent days sought to link the U. S. sale of Hawk missiles to Israel with alleged attempts to force the Arabs to accept a United Nations Arab refugee solution, according to radio monitors here.
A Damascus broadcast said that “America and Israel have announced the aggressive Hawk missile deal at a time when they have resolved to present the Palestine Question and the refugee problem before the current session of the UN General Assembly. They did this to force the Arabs to negotiate with Israel and end the so-called Arab question in Palestine.”
In the Syrian view, “Israel has become a hostile arms depot while the United Nations Emergency Force stands as a safety cordon. ” The Arabs talked of the Israel missile acquisition as part of a “liquidation plot” hatched by America and Israel.
