The resignation of Attorney General Gideon Hausner over differences between himself and Justice Minister Dov Joseph became final today when Mr. Hausner declined a request by Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion that he reconsider his decision to quit. Mr. Hausner will remain in office until Mr. Joseph returns from Tanganyika where he is representing the Israel Government in that country’s independence celebrations.
Pinchas Rosen, former Justice Minister and Liberal party leader, today asked for a debate on the matter in the Knesset, Israel’s Parliament. The Knesset discussion on the issue is expected to take place in two weeks when Mr. Joseph returns from abroad.
