Robber Admits Turning over Part of $30,000 Loot to U.S. Nazi Party

A 22-year-old robber being sought by state police here has admitted that he has turned over most of the proceeds of several robberies, totaling about $30, 000, to the headquarters of the American Nazi Party at Arlington, Va., state authorities here announced today.

The man is Weston L. Weed who, according to the police, had previously served a 60-day jail sentence in Baltimore where he had been arrested following an American Nazi Party demonstration in which he had participated while wearing a Nazi uniform.

Last Thursday, police said, they arrested him in Burlington County on charges of having committed at least three safe robberies. The man admitted the robberies, police said, and boasted that, after one of the “jobs, ” in which he had obtained $20, 000, he went immediately to the Nazi headquarters at Arlington where he turned over the money.

While awaiting transportation to a prison after his arrest Thursday, he escaped. Today the New Jersey State Police was still searching for the man.
