A decision to establish a central representative body of Venezuelan Jewry was adopted here today at a conference of leaders of the Jewish community here. The conference was attended by Israel’s Ambassador Aryeh Oron and Dr. Nathan Lerner, representatives of the World Jewish Congress.
The conference decided that when the central representative body is established, it will affiliate itself with the World Jewish Congress. A national convention of representatives of Jewish communities and organizations in Venezuela will take place next month to formally organize the central body.
