Maurice Levin, a leading business and philanthropic figure in Essex County, died yesterday at the age of 66 at his Miami Beach winter residence. His home was in South Orange.

A supporter for many years of local institutions and Israel programs, Mr. Levin, with his brother George, provided the funds for the new Physics Building at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem that was dedicated last September.
