Holland to Seek Extradition of Rajakovic from Austria or Germany

Download PDF for this date

The Government of The Netherlands has notified Austria–as well as West Germany–that it intends to request the extradition of Erich Rajakovic, wartime aide to the late Adolf Eichmann, who is accused of having transported more than 100, 000 Jews from Holland to the Nazi murder camps. Announcement of that intention was made here by a spokesman for the Dutch Ministry of Justice.

Meanwhile, there was uncertainty here today as to the whereabouts of Rajakovic. Last week, he was expelled from Switzerland when he came there from Italy where he had been engaged in an affluent export-import business. He had presumably gone to Bavaria and, later, an attorney for the ex-Nazi said he would come to this country. He is a former Austrian national whose Austrian citizenship had been canceled here. The Austrian Ministry of Justice had said it wants to interrogate the man about his wartime activities.
