The annual conference of the Union of Swiss Jewish Communities today called on the Soviet Union to end its discriminatory treatment of Russian Jews, permit them to develop their own cultural and religious institutions and to allow the reunification of families separated by World War II.
The 80 delegates, meeting in St. Gallen, assailed the Soviet authorities for closing synagogues and other Jewish religious institutions, asserting that these actions had deprived the 3,000,000 Russian Jews of religious facilities granted to other faiths in Russia.
