Arthur A.C. Liveran, of Israel, today was appointed by Secretary General U Thant to the highest Secretariat post ever held here by an Israeli, being named as secretary of the joint Staff Pension Board. The body has jurisdiction over all staff pension systems of not only the U. N, itself but also all of the United Nations specialized agencies like the World Health Organization, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation and Food and Agriculture Organization.
