Meyer Obadia, a leader of the Moroccan Jewish community who was named to Parliament in the country’s recent elections, told a Jewish Telegraphic Agency correspondent today that he would work in Parliament to make the views of Moroccan Jewry understood and to have their rights and interests safeguarded. He said the latter included freedom of movement.
Declaring that the Moroccan Jewish community had elected him and that he would do everything to defend their interests, he emphasized that he would strive to “remain faithful to my God, my King and my country.”
