American professionals in the fields of science, public administration, social work, teaching and other areas were called upon here last night to contribute their outstanding skills, talents and technological know-how to Israel by spending a minimum of one year in the state.

S. Z. Shragai, head of the immigration department of the Jewish Agency, said in an address at a dinner of the Religious Zionists of America that such a contribution by American professionals “would be in the nature of a private American Peace Corps under the auspices of American Jewry.”

Rabbi Mordechai Kirshblum, president of the Religious Zionists of America, said that the United States “is jeopardizing its position of influence, power and leadership in the United Nations and with the newly emerged African nations by permitting disgraceful acts of racial discrimination, bigotry and violence in the South.”
