Funeral for Jacob Holtzmann Attended by N.Y. Political Leaders

Prominent state and local political leaders and representatives of the Jewish community attended funeral services today at the Brooklyn Jewish Center for the late Jacob L. Holtzmann, a founder of the Center, and a member of the State Board of Regents from 1949 to 1958. He died here yesterday, aged 75.

Mr. Holtzmann was active in politics since 1912, when he joined the late Theodor Roosevelt’s National Progressive Party. He later was a delegate to the Republican national conventions in 1948, 1952 and 1956. As a member of the State Board of Regents, he was one of the chief exponents of educational television. In addition to his activities in the Brooklyn Jewish Center, of which he was a founder, he was formerly a member of the board of overseers of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, and was awarded an honorary degree by the Seminary.
