The Director General of the Cyprus Foreign Ministry, Costas Assiotis, said here today that his country was following a policy of “absolute neutrality” in its relations with Israel and the Arab states.

Addressing the members of a diplomatic seminar here conducted by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Mr. Assiotis described his country’s relations with Israel and the Arab nations as “a delicate problem.” Cyprus, he declared, “extends its hand to both parties, and gives the two sides equal opportunity to establish cultural, economic and other relations with Cyprus.”
