1,500 Jews Attended Rosh Hashanah Services in Moscow Synagogue

More than 1,500 Jews attended the Rosh Hashanah services in the Moscow central synagogue which were conducted by Chief Rabbi Yehuda Leib Levin, according to reports from the Soviet capital. The majority were elderly people. Private gatherings of “Minyarim” for High Holy Day praying were banned this year for the first time in Soviet history.
