Holland Bans Performances by German Producer of Anti-semitic Film

Dutch authorities today issued an order banning theatrical performances scheduled to have been held at Maastricht, capital of the southern province of Limburg, because the stage manager of the West German company planning the production is Veit Harlan. He is the notorious German who, during World War II, produced the anti-Semitic film “Jud Suess.”

The action was taken after a protest had been voiced by a Socialist in the Dutch Senate, who requested the Government to oust Harlan as “an undesirable alien,” and to refuse to issue a labor permit to Harlan.
