Lord Nathan, a Laborite peer who for many years was legal adviser to the Jewish Agency and subsequently legal adviser to the Israel Embassy in London, died today at the age of 74. He was a Zionist from the days of the Balfour Declaration. He was given a peerage in 1940 and in 1945 he was named Under Secretary for War and Vice-President of the Army Council. From 1946 to 1948 he was Minister of Civil Aviation. He had also served as adviser to the Bank Leumi, and was active in a number of local charitable and social organizations.
