Dr. Nahum Goldmann told the meeting of the Jewish Agency executive plenary today that unless the Zionist movement entered fully into general Jewish life in the organized communities outside of Israel, leadership would pass into non-Zionist hands with all the dangers inherent for Israel in such a development.

He said that the Zionist movement must become a central force in the Conference of Jewish Organizations and a central guiding force in Jewish life in non-Israeli communities. Asserting that these goals were attainable only with the true and sincere aid of the Israel Government, he urged the start of talks with the Government for preparation of a detailed overall plan of cooperation. He suggested an “early” meeting for that purpose.

Moshe Sharett, chairman of the executive, told the opening session that local Zionist organizations must take on a growing responsibilities for tasks to be performed in that area.
