The 20th Anniversary of Jewish Book Month will be observed throughout the country from November 8 to December 8 under the nation-wide auspices of the Jewish Book Council of the National Jewish Welfare Board.

Locally, Jewish Book Month will be marked by YM-YWHA and Jewish Community Centers, synagogues, libraries, and other institutions. Programs planned include book fairs, dramatizations, children’s events, radio and television programs, lectures, forums, panel discussions, exhibits and book reviews.

The JWB Jewish Book Council has available a variety of program suggestions, plays, manuals, guides, book lists, posters and other materials to help organizations and groups in planning Jewish Book Month observance. Among these are a completely revised edition of “The Jewish Child in Book land,” a bibliography of Jewish juvenile books; a new edition of “Paperbound Books of Jewish Interest” by Diana Bernstein; “Bible Programs for Jewish Book Month” by Hannah Grad Goodman, and a poster, with the theme, “The Bible: Eternal Book.”
