Funeral services were held today for Mrs. Isaac Paiewonsky, 79-year-old mother of Ralph M. Paiewonsky, governor of the Virgin Islands. She died in the hospital where she underwent major surgery. Born Rebecca Kishner in Lithuania, she came to the islands at the age of 20 and was married to the late Isaac Paiewonsky. when she was 21. A pioneer in social welfare work, she had been revered as a philanthropist.
