Max Danisk, Former I.l.g.w.u. Editor, Dead; Was Author of Books

Max D. Danish, editor and author, died here yesterday, aged 77. Born in Russia and educated in this country, Mr. Danish was associated for 40 years, until his retirement in 1951, with the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, as public relations director and as editor of the Union’s principal organ, Justice.

He was author of a number of books, including a history of the I.L.G.W.U., a biography of David Dubinsky, that union’s president, and a biography of William Green, late president of the American Federation of Labor. Mr. Danish was, himself, formerly a member of the I.L.G.W.U. and a participant in some of the union’s early strikes in 1909 and 1910. He received a law degree from New York University in 1918.
