San Francisco Jewish Hospital Awarded $500,000 for Research

The National Institutes of Health, scientific research arm of the U.S. Public Health Service, today awarded $500,000 to the Harold Brunn Institute for Cardiovascular Research of Mount Zion Hospital, here, according to an announcement by Marco F. Hellman, president of the hospital.

The grant, to run for a period of seven years, is for basic research being conducted at the institute by Dr. Meyer Friedman and Dr. Sanford Dyers, respectively director and assistant director of the research unit, who are investigating cholesterol metabolism and the pathogenesis of sclerosis.
