Agriculture Minister Moshe Dayan warned today that Israel must assume that the six European Common Market countries intend to produce all the eggs they needed, and that poultry produce must no longer be considered as export items.
He issued his warning to the Israel Poultry Produce Marketing Board, declaring that “we shall not be able in the future to depend on marketing outlets in those countries” for poultry foods. He added that farmers must not overproduce poultry products, and that new settlements should not be based on poultry farming.
