Mrs. Colda Meir, Israel’s Foreign Minister, told the Parliament last night that the reiteration by President Nasser of Egypt of aggressive intentions against Israel should dispel the delusion current among some foreign statesmen that the Egyptian dictator was becoming more moderate. She said Israel must guard also against the spread “of such illusions among ourselves.”

Reviewing United States-Israel relations, she expressed confidence that President Johnson Would continue the policy of the late President Kennedy of support for Israel’s security. She praised President Johnson’s proposal for cooperation in the field of using nuclear energy for water desalination. She stressed the wide understanding she said she had found for Israel during her recent visits to European capitals.
