A Protestant lay preacher and two Syrians convicted of spying for Israel were publicly hanged this morning in Damascus, it was reported here today from that city.
Jamil Ibrahim, al-Korah, a Lebanese of Syrian origin; Jamil Al-Haddad, a former Syrian Army sergeant; and Joussel Lakunah, a civilian, were the three who were executed. A fourth defendant, former Sergeant Hanna Abdel-Bour Masyd, a Syrian, was not executed, though his death sentence was confirmed last night by the Syrian National Revolutionary Council.
