A resolution demanding government vigilance against anti-Semitic organizations in Australia was adopted here this weekend at a mass meeting in Town Hall to commemorate the heroes of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising in 1943. The meeting itself had been addressed by Federal and state political leaders, and received a message hailing the heroes of the Warsaw Ghetto and expressing the Government’s a thorrence of racism from Sir Robert Menzies, Prime Minister of Australia. According to the leaders of the Australian Board of Jewish Deputies, who arranged the meeting, some anti-Semitic organizations in this country, like the Ustashi, "have approximately 2, 000 members with links abroad. "
Another service honoring the memories of the Warsaw Ghetto heroes as well as the memories of the 6, 000, 000 Jews who had died during the Hitler holocaust was held at Town Hall in Melbourne. One of the principal speakers at the Melbourne rally was Israel’s Minister of Labor, Brig. Gen. Yigal Allon.
