The owner of a bookstore in the university town of New Paltz waived examination at a preliminary hearing last night on charges of assaulting a Jewish professor in an altercation over a display in the store of anti-Semitic material. The owner, James Warner, was freed on bail pending action by the Grand Jury on the charges.
Gerson Robison, professor of mathematics at State University College here, suffered a head wound that required eight stitches. He returned to his teaching duties three days after the alleged assault in which he was struck with a baseball bat.
