Mayor of Antwerp Asked to Disqualify Himself After Anti-semitic Incident

The board of directors of the Antwerp B’nai B’rith issued a public statement today declaring that Mayor Lode Crayebeck’s anti-Semitic outburst at five Jews last week disqualified him from representing the Antwerp community.

The statement was sent to the Prime Minister, Parliamentary leaders, members of the Belgian Parliament and to the press. It asked the Belgian authorities “to point out to the Mayor that he should draw the necessary conclusions from his intolerable attitude. “
