Some 1,500 nurses of the Kupa Holim sick fund of the Histadrut, Israel’s labor federation, went out on a 24-hour strike today in support of demands for better working conditions.

Elementary school teachers, meanwhile, said they would strike for the next three days unless the Government withdrew a decision refusing them extra pay for coaching athletic teams.
