Israel Approves Construction of Additional Housing at $30,000,000 Cost

The Israeli Government today approved the construction of 5,000 more homes for immigrants, in addition to 10,000 such homes in the current budget already voted to the Ministry of Housing.

At the same time, Housing Minister Yosef Almogi said he would seek Government approval for 5,000 more housing units for immigrants, in view of the fact that immigration, this year, is again exceeding previous forecasts. The additional units thus far approved, he declared, will cost 90,000,000 Israeli pounds ($30,000,000) He declared that the Jewish Agency is expected to increase its contributions to help meet the immigrant housing shortage.
