Syrians on border positions fired on an Israeli kibbutz this weekend for the second time in two days. Several bursts of automatic weapon fire were directed from the Syrian emplacements toward Kibbutz Ashmora, near the Sea of Galilee, in Northern Israel. No injuries were reported. Israel did not return the fire, and lodged a complaint with the UN Mixed Armistice Commission.

On Thursday, three Israelis were injured when Syrian positions fired farmers and at an Israeli patrol car proceeding along its usual route, Thursday’s incident was the first serious border attack in several months.

In the Knesset (Parliament), Elimelech Rimalt, a member of the Liberal Party, called for an emergency meeting of the Foreign Affairs Committee to discuss the Syrian border attacks.
