The Reconstructionist, the bi-monthly publication of the Jewish Reconstructionist Foundation, called in its current issue for the defeat of Sen. Barry Goldwater at the polls next month.
The publication ended a 30-year practice of endorsing principles rather than persons, asserting that, this year, the tradition was no longer valid. The publication said Sen. Goldwater’s bid for the Presidency “must not only be defeated; he must be completely routed. European friends must be assured that the overwhelming majority of Americans renounce extremism in foreign policy. “
