Raymond Schmittlin, vice-president of the French National Assembly, today pledged that “France will always be at Israel’s side at the hour of danger.” M. Schmittlin, who, along with eight other members of the French Parliament, was host at a luncheon in honor of Israel Ambassador Walter Eytan, described the close links between the two countries in the cultural and economic fields, and expressed his conviction that “Franco-Israel friendship will continue unchanged.”
