Jewish National Fund of Britain Sets $2, 800, 000 Goal for 1965

The Jewish National Fund of Britain has set a fund-raising goal of 1, 000, 000 pounds sterling ($2, 800, 000) for next year, it was announced here today by Rosser Chinn, president of the British JNF, at the 40th annual conference of the organization.

Reporting on the British JNF efforts during the current year, Mr. Chinn said that the organisation had remitted to Israel so far a total of 795, 000 pounds ($2,226, 000) with remaining pledges likely to raise the total for the year to 900, 000 pounds ($2,520, 000). This compares with a total last year of 775, 000 pounds ($2,170,000).

Yaacov Tsur, world chairman of the JNF board of directors, was guest of honor at the conference. Other speakers included Chief Rabbi Israel Brodie; Rabbi Solomon Gaon, the Sephardi Hacham; and Israel Ambassador Arthur Lourie.
