A Christian minister, the Rev. E. A. Miller was signally honored at the annual Order Day Dinner of the Bnai Zion at the Ambassador Hotel here when he was presented with a plaque signifying that a garden of trees had been set aside in his name at the John F. Kennedy Peace Forest in Israel.
The award was given the Glendale minister for his dramatic action in posting a mezzuzah on his congregation’s door in public protest against the establishment of an American Nazi headquarters in Glendale. Peter Lawford, brother-in-law of the late President Kennedy was guest of honor; Herman L. Quittman of New York, national executive secretary delivered the major address, and Fred Kahan president of the Order chaired the occasion which raised sufficient funds to plant some 35,000 trees in the JFK Peace Forest.
