Amsterdam officials announced today that the square before the newly-built town hall will be named after the late Jewish president of the Dutch High Court, L.E. Visser. The announcement was made in connection with the commemoration of the general strike in Amsterdam in 1941 against anti-Semitic measures of the German occupation.
