All Americans were urged today by Agudath Israel of America, national Orthodox organization, to rally to the support of a bill introduced in Congress to enable Sabbath observers to work for the Federal Government without prejudice to their employment by reason of their religious faith. The legislation was introduced last week by Rep. Jonathan Bingham, New York Democrat. Rabbi Morris Sherer, executive vice-president of Agudath Israel, declared the bill “will enable the Sabbath observer in government employ to fulfill his religious beliefs as a matter or right and not on sufferance.”
