Rep. Roman C. Pucinski, Illinois Democrat, today urged that Congress “recognize the realities of life in the Middle East by approving, as quickly as possible, legislation barring Nasser and the Arab states from boycotting American industry which does business with Israel.”

Addressing a public affairs conference here, sponsored by the Zionist Organization of America, Rep. Pucinski said “this attitude by the Arab states is contemptible. One has a right to ask: How much longer will the United States Government continue to tolerate such impudence?”

Declaring that Israel has never been in greater danger, Rep. Pucinski voiced the hope that the U.S. Government would again reaffirm “its unequivocal determination that any act of aggression by the Arab states against Israel is an act of aggression against the United States and the Western democracies.”
