Broadest Range of British Jewry Plans Action on Jews in U.S. S. R.

Specific proposals for action against Soviet oppressions of Jewry in the USSR and plans for improving that situation, were adopted here tonight at a special meeting of British Jewry, representing virtually all shades of Anglo-Jewish opinion.

Summoned by Solomon Teff, president of the Board of Jewish Deputies, “to consider the serious situation of Soviet Jewry,” the session was attended by two representatives of each of the following organizations: The Board of Deputies, the Anglo-Jewish Association, Agudat Israel, Association of Jewish Ex-Service Men and Women, B’nai B’rith, the League of Jewish Women, Mizrachi-Hapoel Hamizrachi, the British section of the World Jewish Jongress, World Sephardi Federation, World Union for Progressive Judaism, and Zionist Federation of Great Britain.
