Moses H. Hoenig, honorary president of the National Council of Young Israel, and Dr. Mordecai Hacohen, director-general of Ozar Hatorah, the Society for Jewish Education in the Middle East and North Africa, were honored here last night at the 53rd annual dinner of Young Israel. They were presented with the organization’s Shofar Award.

Addressing the 1,500 guests who attended the dinner at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, Rabbi David H. Hill, president of Young Israel, expressed opposition to entering into religious dialogues by Jewish groups with the Catholic Church. He said that Jews were shocked by the Pope’s utterance on April 4th in which he reiterated the charge of deicide against the Jews.
