Harris Shafner, president of the Jewish Teachers Association, in New York, died in a hospital yesterday shortly after he was stricken with a heart attack. He was 60. The educator, who served as assistant principal of a Brooklyn public school, recently received the Morim award of the. Jewish Teachers Association, which represents 18,000 Jewish teachers in New York City public schools. Born in Connecticut, Mr. Shafner was a graduate of Yale University.
