A group from the Dusseldorf War Crimes Court arrived in Montreal today prepared to hear testimony in connection with the Nazi murder of Jews during the Second World War. A member of the court and a representative of the West German Government of Dusseldorf accompanied the group, made up largely of lawyers of accused persons.
The Montreal hearing will be held at the West German Consulate. It is believed only one witness is to appear here. The group will then go to New York and later to Caracas, Venezuela, for similar sittings. Witresses to be heard in each city are those who did not appear before the court trying 10 former Treblinka concentration camp staff members for alleged complicity in the Nazi murder of 6, 000, 000 Jews.
