A resolution deploring the Arab boycott against Israel, and endorsing a bill pending now in Congress to prohibit restrictive trade practices affecting Americans, such as the practices of the Arab Boycott Office, was adopted unanimously here today at the concluding session of the 36th annual convention of the National Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs.
The convention, in session since Sunday, was attended by 700 delegates representing 350 Conservative congregations. It elected Mannye London, of Chicago, as president, succeeding S. David Rosenzweig, of Philadelphia, who was named honorary president.
Another resolution endorsed the efforts of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, which is attempting to work out “humane slaughter” practices that would be acceptable to Jewish ritual procedures in the slaughter of animals. The Federation warned, however, that no procedures for “humane slaughter” of small animals have, as yet, been devised.
