Stephen S. Wise Chair Dedicated at Hebrew University in Jerusalem

The Stephen S. Wise Chair in American Jewish life and Institutions, which will function under the aegis of the Institute of Contemporary Jewry of the Hebrew University, was dedicated today at the university.

Elianu Elath, university president, said the course would provide “a record of individual and communal life in the largest Jewish community in the world for present and future scholars.” One event of the dedication was the presentation by Prof. Moshe Davis, head of the Institute, of the first of what will be annual public lectures. He was named first occupant of the Chair. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Krensky of Chicago, who endowed the Chair, attended the ceremony.
