TEL AVIV (Jun. 15)
The Abraham Cahan Research Center at the Hebrew University will be dedicated Thursday in ceremonies whose participants will include Adolf Held, general manager of the Jewish Daily Forward of New York and head of the Abraham Cahan Fund in the United States. The Fund was established in New York in memory of the late editor of the Forward.
Mr. Held said that the Center will include an estimated total of 5,000,000 microfilmed units of Yiddish writings published in newspaper, bulletin and book form during the past 300 years. Included will be publications received by the Fund from the Soviet Union. Mr. Held was guest of honor at a luncheon at the Sokolow House attended by leaders of the Histadrut, Israel’s Labor Federation, Yiddish writers and members of the Tel Aviv Journalists Association.
