The new building of the Hebrew University Hadassah Medical School, constructed at a cost of $8,500,000, was dedicated here today. The structure is part of the Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center, a complex of schools and clinical facilities in all the medical sciences.
Participating in the dedication ceremonies today were Mrs. Mortimer Jacobson, national president of Hadassah and Dr. Albert B. Sabin. vice-president of the American Friends of the Hebrew University and chairman of its Physicians Division.
An international symposium on “The Impact of the Basic Sciences on Medicine” with the participation of some 60 scientists from 12 countries will open tomorrow here in conjunction with the dedication of the new medical school building.
Among the noted scientists who will attend the symposium will be Nobel prizewinner Ernst Chain, Dr. Albert Sabin, developer of live polio vaccine; and other top scientists from France, England, Greece, Turkey, Poland, Yugoslavia, Italy, Swedon and other countries.
