Arab efforts to divert the headwaters of the Jordan River, and thus to deny them to Israel, were considered today at a meeting of the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs and Security Committee.
Premier Levi Eshkol and Chief of Staff Gen. Izhak Rabin reported to the committee on the latest developments in those efforts. A Beirut newspaper reported today that diversion work on a project in Lebanon was stopped several days ago but added that the heft was due only to budgetary problems.
